Caleb Sher of Cut Paper Press and Jacob Romm collaborated to design and print these cards in the archival storage vault of the Yiddish Book Center, using the remarkable historic typefaces and image cuts in their collection.
The phrases mean, "a happy hanukkah" and "a bright hanukkah"!
These A2 size cards are blank on the inside and come with envelopes.
Letter and Spirit Press is a tiny letterpress shop which prints everything from poetry broadsides to Buddhist slogans to queer ephemera. Prints are made either in my tiny home print shop in New Haven, CT, or in the Jonathan Edwards press at Yale University. Letter and Spirit Press is also the home of Chimera, a new chapbook series devoted to writing which explores the expansiveness and complexities of trans manhood and transmasculinity.
